Individual Counseling
Individual counseling gives you a private place to talk about what is on your mind. You and Rosemary will look at the problem together and work out solutions that fit your life.
Counseling can help if you have been feeling depressed or anxious. It can also help if everyday stress has become hard to manage.
Talk therapy focuses on understanding a problem better so you can find a way through it. Your treatment plan is built around you and your goals.
When to Consider Counseling
People often reach out to Rosemary when:
- They feel down or anxious more often than usual
- Everyday stress has become hard to manage
- They are going through a big change, like a move or a change in the family
- Something has been on their mind for a while
If any of these sound familiar, it may be a good time to talk with someone.
Coping and Problem-Solving Skills
Counseling with Rosemary is practical. Along with talking through what you are facing, you will learn skills you can use at home and at work:
- Coping skills to help you manage stress, like a calming exercise to use when you feel anxious
- Problem-solving skills to help you work through challenges as they come up, like a step-by-step way to think through a hard decision
Family Counseling
Family counseling helps family members work through conflict and communicate with more patience and empathy.
It can help with tension between parents and children or with the adjustments that come with a blended family.
Rosemary works with:
- Nuclear families
- Extended families
- Stepfamilies
- Friends and roommates who want to get along better
Each person gets time to share their side. From there, Rosemary helps the group find ways to resolve conflict together.
Telehealth Counseling
Telehealth lets you meet with Rosemary from home or anywhere you feel comfortable. It is a good fit if you have a busy schedule or prefer to stay home.
All you need is a private space and a phone or computer with an internet connection.
Telehealth makes counseling easier to fit into your week. You can join a session from your living room or from your office on a lunch break.
Walk and Talk in Nature

There are beautiful local trails close to the Trumbull office. If you would like to bring your therapy session outdoors, let Rosemary know.
Some people find it easier to talk while walking side by side.
Walk and talk sessions are optional. Rosemary can tell you more about the trails when you call.
About Rosemary
Rosemary is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She graduated from Fairfield University with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2007.
Her counseling includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) with an emphasis on helping clients be their best selves.
How Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Works
CBT looks at the connection between how you think and how you act.
In sessions, Rosemary helps you notice thought and behavior patterns that are not working for you. Together, you replace them with healthier ones.
CBT focuses on building healthy coping strategies and changing unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. You will practice these strategies in sessions and use them on your own when stress shows up.
For example, if you tend to expect the worst in a situation, CBT helps you notice that thought and look at it more closely. Then you can choose a more balanced response.
What to Expect
Your first step is a phone call. Call (860) 980-0405 to tell Rosemary what is bringing you to counseling.
She can help you choose the type of session that fits you best:
- In-person sessions at her Trumbull office
- Telehealth sessions from home
- Walk and talk sessions on local trails
From there, you and Rosemary will work on a plan that fits your needs. Current clients can use the Client Portal to manage their care.
